D&P was responsible for a broad range of services including exhibit project management, fabrication and installation of artifact cases, free-standing artifacts, exhibit area flooring and wall finishes, exhibit lighting hardware, and numerous other exhibit components. D&P also provided project management coordination and installation of exhibit components produced by numerous specialty subcontractors. We produced and installed a vast array of graphic elements ranging from grand-scale wall murals to small artifact labels.
In keeping with the museum’s location in the footprint of what was one of the nation’s iconic skyscrapers, steel was used as a signature design element throughout. Due to the weight of the material, installation posed many challenges. As an example, a single steel introductory panel weighed nearly 1,000 pounds and required rigging services to execute the installation.
